Plein Air  painting by Hawaii artist Jenifer Prince

Jenifer Hanson Prince grew up on the beach at Malibu surfing, sailing and diving.

She received training in art and painting at Santa Monica City College and UCLA.

In 1978 she moved to Kauai for further artistic inspiration and to surf.

Her love of Hawaii’s landscapes and seascapes inspired her to put these images to canvas.   Jenifer paints outside on location in the impressionist plein air style. Her oil paintings are filled with expressive color and light catching fleeting moments in time.

Jenifer has studied plein air painting with Ken Auster, Camille Prezwodek, Ian Roberts, Betty Billiups, Peggy Kroll Roberts and Saim Caglayan. She has participated in juried and solo art shows in Hawaii and California.

Memberships include Kauai Society of Artists, Plein Air Painters of Hawaii,

Kauai Outdoor Painters and Laguna Plein Air Painters Association.

Commercial art projects include Kauai Marriot Hotel, Princeville Ranch Stables, Yoga Hanalei, Ching Young Village Hanalei. She has completed several murals for private estates and businesses.  Her oil paintings and plein air art can be found in collections worldwide.
